HypnoBirthing® is as much a philosophy as it is a full-fledged childbirth education class containing an entire cache of practical, life-long tools.
It’s based on the belief that all babies should be born in an atmosphere of gentleness and peace and that severe discomfort does not need to be an accompaniment to the birthing process. That when a mother is prepared physically, mentally and emotionally, she can experience birth in a calm, joyful and much more comfortable manner. This class teaches and utilizes relaxation and breathing techniques as well as focusing on the bond between a mother, her birthing partner and their baby. Finally, HypnoBirthing brings a woman back to her own natural birthing instincts.
Strongly consider signing up around 24-28 weeks of one’s pregnancy, which allows for plenty of time for practice and contingency plans related to a missed class as each class is equally important to the program.
Taught by Kristen Olberz, RN, CH, HBCE, HBFS. For general information on HypnoBirthing® you may also visit www.HypnoBirthing.com
